It is no secret that Mauritius’ white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters are otherworldly.
These very turquoise lagoons and crystalline waters are what inspired the design of the Aqua Collection, particularly the reflection of waves and ripples created as the water flows on the coral sea floor. The organic fluidity of these shapes lends the collection its distinguished patterns: the aqua cube bar, a solid yet curvy bar cabinet defined by sharp edges, seamlessly camouflages itself in every environment, and the aqua shelves in their silver and gold finishes.
The collection is characterized by the use of two distinct materials and two distinct textures that are brought together to create a dialogue, mirroring the relationship between the ocean and the beaches that surround the island: on the one hand, we have the sand finish of the shelves and cubes—that were meticulously developed over the course of one full year—in black lava sand and white coral sand, echoing the pristine coral beaches and the volcanic origin of the island; on the other hand, we have the silver and gold mirrored-surfaces, which symbolise the ocean water and recreate the dialogue between the island shores and the open ocean.
The aqua shelf is made up of three elements that are interlocked to form a seemingly infinite pattern. This piece can also serve as a space divider.
